Ecstasy on the Rhine! One minute before the end, captain Moritz Müller shoots the Cologne Sharks to victory over the EHC after the Munich team had taken the lead twice. For the hosts, it is the first home victory over the EHC after three defeats in a row and means that the Sharks are in sixth place and are level on points with the fifth-placed EHC.
Maximilian Kammerer, Cologne player: "We always played well petroleum manufacturers email lists against them (EHC, ed.). We played extremely well for 60 minutes. We were extremely active in terms of running. We also wanted to do something with the puck and were rewarded in the end."
Moritz Müller, captain of Cologne and scorer of the winning goal, on the euphoria surrounding him and the start of 2025: "I don't know what to say. I can only agree. A good start to the year. It wasn't an easy game, but it ended happily for us."
...on his winning goal: "I've had a long dry spell and then the necessary level of conviction is lacking in one or two shots. When the first one goes in, you shoot a little more freely, more easily, harder."
Veit Oswald, a Munich player, scored the 2-2 with a penalty: "It's very bitter when you're twice in the lead in a very important game and can't hold on for 60 minutes, then it hurts a lot. Especially when you concede the 3-2 so close to the end."
