Finally, it is observed that from March onwards and more steadily between April and May, there are mentions of “anticoagulants” . Specifically, this was due to the fact that the authorities updated the treatment protocol to include this medication and thus prevent thrombosis in confirmed patients.

Medications
The total number of mentions of medicines totalled 1,206, with 76% of negative mentions:

Users suffering from Lupus report shortage of Hydroxychloroquine.
In addition, users argue that the indiscriminate use of these drugs, without a prescription, can be harmful.
In general, users report shortages, price increases, and that pharmacies “do not want” to sell generic versions of these medications (including anticoagulants).
Oxygen
Meanwhile, mentions of “oxygen” reached 973 and a sentiment of 83%. The highlights are:

News and tweets reporting a lack of oxygen tanks in the Loreto mexico whatsapp number due to an increase in infected patients.
Users report the existence of a black market in Iquitos. Apparently, oxygen cylinders are sold there at high prices and there is a risk that they are counterfeit.
Government authorities report on the transfer of oxygen tanks from Lima to Loreto to deal with the emergency.
Regarding queries about oxygen tanks on the brands' fan pages, only 3 were registered.
Districts and regions with the most needs and requests
On the other hand, at Quantico we have developed our GeoPanel, an indicator that geolocates the places in Lima and the departments of the country where a brand is tweeted most frequently, taking into account influence, gender and age.

We have made a ranking of the top 10 districts that have been mentioned the most by users. Surco, Miraflores, San Miguel, La Molina and SJL stand out.

The main needs expressed by users are related to knowing: prices, stock, locations, delivery coverage and information on opening hours and deliveries.

La Libertad, Piura, Arequipa, Lambayeque and Cusco are the regions with the most activity. Here, criticism of pharmacy chains is evident regarding: high prices, delays in restocking and, in general, demands for sanctions and regulations from institutions for the aforementioned reasons.

Posts with the most positive comments
We zoomed in on the posts made by the different brands. This allowed us to filter out only the positive comments to identify the content that received the best response from the community.

We observed that 78% were related to posts thanking pharmacy workers; 11% were posts about quarantine tips; 7% were posts about raffles, meaning that these posts were few compared to other topics.

Finally, 3% was covered by publications on Communications, Branding and Donations.

Actions and measures in the industry: timeline and impact
At a general level, we were able to hear mentions of pharmacies, laboratories and stakeholders such as MINSA, Alafarpe, Digemid, among others; regardless of the brands.

Here we were able to extract some actions or measures imposed by the government or other institutions and learn how they were received by users.

On February 27, a controversy arose over the front page of a well-known newspaper reporting on the increase in sales of generic drugs.

Users criticize the approach taken in the headline, as it was said that the increase in sales “affected” laboratories, instead of raising the news from the perspective of the benefit for consumers.
